Maternity Sessions Before The Big Day

When people contact me about documenting their birth, I always suggest we get together! It's good to meet, get to know each other a little bit. We chat about your expectations and desires and chat about my process and the experiences I have had. Then we take a walk around the neighbourhood and snap a few photos.  I think it's nice to get a glimpse of yourself through my eyes and to do a little run through before fully committing to having the biggest day of your life documented. I want you to be sure of your decision, and I want you to feel at ease about me being there, and trust that I am capturing your day perfectly. More or less, I want to make sure we're a good fit. I am 100% there to document your day, but it's not uncommon for me to grab water, or hold a leg, or help put on slippers, or just cheer in the background because with birth, you gotta roll with it! Birth is beautiful and kinda unpredictable. If you have been following me on Facebook or Instagram you'll know that I am pretty passionate about birth. I believe that all women should be given more control and more information about their own birth and more support in their options. I wholeheartedly support all women in their birthing choices, so whatever happens, whatever you decide, I will support you.

These 5 sessions below are people I met with pretty recently. Three of these couples have had their baby already and 2 have not. Jesleen is due over the holiday season, and Sandra and Pawel will be parents any day now!! So send all those birthy vibes their way!

Can you believe that spring is just around the bend! I am happy to hear that the groundhog saw his shadow, so the warm weather is predicted to arrive early! And over the last week it's been definitely showing signs of winters end! Lets just hope the cherry blossoms aren't fooled by these temps because I am sure there will be more cold days and it would be sad if the cherry blossoms didn't bloom again this year! Either way, I will still be doing spring minis, just like last year! If you put yourself on the mailing list, you will be among the first to know of the mini sessions allowing you to get first dibs on booking!
Check out this mini session with this sweet brother and sister! Of course, since the cherry blossoms didn't bloom, we took full advantage of the vibrant blossoming landscape. We met nice and early on a perfect warm and very sunny spring day! We wandered through the park taking pictures in the most inviting spots.

After seeing these, spring can't come fast enough!

A Valentine's Baby

I ended 2016 on a  pretty high note when I documented my 30th birth and it was the birth of twins! (I will be sharing that birth story here on the blog very soon.) So I am very excited to go back on call after a nice holiday break to document this beautiful couples birthing day! Their estimated due date is on Valentine's Day. Now, I am fully aware that about 10% of babies are born on the EDD, but still, it's a pretty lovely due date to have considering birth is all about love. The most overwhelming amount of love!

Learn more about birth photography here, and contact me sooner rather than later if you are interested in having your birthing day documented because I take limited sessions and 2017 is booking up fast!
